This is the opportunity to make a good first impression. First Impressions last. When you are new to this forum, we do request that you write a short and friendly introduction of yourself. It's not too painful, and helps the rest of us get an idea about who you are.

Ill lead by example and go first.

Im Warren, sometimes called Eightball. I'm 38 years old living in Hastings. Married, with multiple offspring, I work in IT, but I also enjoy replicating real-world weapons and kit in Airsoft.

My name is Michael, sometimes referred to as either Delta One Zero, DeltaTen, or D-Ten. I'm 30 and am living in the Frankton suburb of Queenstown (a nice little touristy spot in the Central Otago region of the South Island.)
Can't say I have actually played any airsoft yet, but am enthusiastically hoping to get into it sooner rather than later, though at the moment there is a lack of any clubs in the Central Otago region (at least for Airsoft, there is a paintball club in Cromwell I believe.)
As for what interests me about the sport, well I think it's largely because it would allow me to utilize airsoft weaponry and kit that mirror what is commonly used by Special Operation units around the globe, as Special Operation Units is one my major interests (inclusive of the kit/weaponry/support assets they use.)
Besides this I'm a avid computer and console gamer, with probably a little bit too much time to do both (the joys and/or frustrations of being unemployed.)

Seriously though, I like doing realworld kits (or impressions) I dont really base them on a particular picture I have seen (as most people do) but more of a look (using many pictures and video etc) in regards to the type of look I'm goin for, then I put my own spin on it.

Mostly its like I said at the top, I like dressing up and playing war :P

Welcome to the forum D-Ten. Hope to have you up for a game at some point.

When it comes to Airsoft I believe more is more!!! So I have started a small arsenal which will only get bigger (wife willing and all). Not too fussed about the reality of my kits just like functionality.

I love my shotty, its satisfying shotting someone with a 100 bones springer. (bones is dollars)

Currently I'm swamped in activities as well as work, after this month though I should get back my saturadays for gaming or doing stuff.

I'm rating that the site gets better every time I log on and i can't wait for us to grow.

I'm 22 and just started working in IT with Eightball. Have never been to an Airsoft event but am looking at buying some gear and getting into it. I have been through RNZAF basic training and am considering a Steyr AUG type rifle (any suggestions, btw?)

To start off with though, just come out to a few games and borrow/rent some gear, don't be in a rush to buy a gun. Once you do find a gun to buy, please get my advice from there, It's my job to help you guys out with purchasing.

im used to the asa forums. im rob im 20 yrs old i played airsoft in 2008 in auks, um i stoped for awhile so i dont know who from asa will vouch for me. but i knw bane and all the crew at asgc. i also know a member from ahb dont knw his profile name but i knw fraser. i have half my gear couple pistols and rifle. my mate is under aged but hes half way through his gun lience but im trying to get his dad to come as a pearntal guarden. my asa forum was ghillie man, but may have been deleted after moving bk to the bay a year ago

If someone you want to bring is under 18 (and bare in mind we may ask for ID if they dont look older than around 25) they will have to bare up to alittle more struntiny.

I've also changed your membership status to 'probationary' so you will have access to a few more areas here.

We purchase from a number of places, importing gear from places like Hong Kong or the US. We also purchase locally as well. There are a couple of suitable places in New Zealand.

Me and a few mates have the odd backyard skirmish, all VERY unorganised but loads of fun. Live in CHB out in the sticks (read, no cell phone service and no nosy neighbours) with the mrs and an 8 year old who thinks he's a crusty demon.

I was reading about your open day coming up and hoping to get up to play however, the young fella has MX on the last Sat of every month so I'll bloody miss this one.

We were thinking of joining you guys this weekend to see what this Airsoft is all about. We've done some paintball in the past and have really dug it. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to have taken off as well as expected! Airsoft sounds like it offers much of the same buzz and we are definitely adrenaline junkies, so if you'll have us, we'd love to give it a go. My name is philip AKA philip (for the sake of easy recognition). I've probably fired a good 6-8k slugs into targets and various small animals throughout my life. That probably doesn't sound like much to you airsoft people but when you have to cock the rifle or pump it 10 times every single shot it takes a while.

Anyway I met most of you today and had fun so I'm pretty keen on doing it again.

I'm used to .68 caliber welts and have a heap of paintball gear, and I think we are all adrenalin junkies. I own Paintball Hawkes Bay, and if you have played paintball here in the last 20 years you have most probably played at a field I owned or used. I am pleased that you guys like the new area, and it will be used for paintball as well, and I think you should thank your committee guys for backing my bid to the Regional Council which got us this area to play in..close too a pub too, for vital refreshment after a days play...LOL

I look forward to meeting you in the future and possibly playing as well.

Although Kiwi born I have lived most of my life overseas and at age 46 am now retired and based in Taupo.
Own a few GBBR's and GBB side arms plus a couple of AEG's.
Also have many uniforms and rigs plus contacts for more if need be.

Looking for home ( club ) and an armourer for a custom barrel/extension for a GBBR project based off an M4 clone that mimics one of my RL weps I had to leave behind.

My other hobby is table top wargames, but i've always been interested in airsoft, so after playing paint ball a few weeks back, I decided to look into whether there was anywhere to play in the bay!

I'm really looking forward to playing a game so that I can decide on whether or not I'm interested in joining the club (there's not much doubt in my mind that I am, but it never hurts to be certain before spending money...)

I use to be a member of AHB back in 2007 and, as Easygoer could tell you, I had the worst luck with AEG's ever! Usually not even lasting 1 game before something in it would crap out ::)

I stopped playing just before AHB hosted NATs in 2008 due to having a boss who was a prick and wouldn't give me the time off to play because he was playing instead! >:( and also because I was up to my eyeballs in debt.

But now that I have a job where I get time off, the debt situations sorted and GBB Rifles are now on the scene I am back into Airsoft again :D

I am David also go by the name of colosus which was given to my brothers in arms in Ground Zero from auckland.

I moved down to hawkes bay in january this year and have been hanging out to have a game, but currently am down and out with a buggered ankle till the end of the year.

My arsenal of weapons include:

Umarex g36k with 4x acog currently shooting about 380 fps as the field limit at the armoury is 395fps
Umarex g36kv with grenade launcher this is standard so have no idea on fps
Tokyo Marui PX4 pistol

I've been to 3 meets now and have enjoyed them all. Went and bought a AK after the first outing as I was quite amazed by how theses BB guns work etc.

In that case you should probably know the legalities of Airsoft. It is illegal for people under 18 (or under 16 with a fire arms license) to own an Airsoft Weapon, or to possess one without supervision.

Also, if you have been watching online you have probably seen a fair amount of clips from over seas where they have full auto rifles. Fully Automatic Airsoft Weapons are illegal across the board in NZ, so we are semi-auto only.

You'll need to have a chat with BJ, about potentially attending games. I'm not sure what the process is these days but he/someone from management may want/need to meet your guardians and talk supervision, etc.

I've actually changed your status to probationary member, since you're joining from HBA. Obviously you'll still need to go through the membership process (as outlined in the newbie threads), but at least you'll be able to see when our members games are coming up.

Those guns look great - bar the orange tip. I am not sure how the new importing laws and gun permits will relate to you as minors so that is worth looking into before you try and purchase from overseas.

Ill try making it to the open game on 4/01/15, hopefully there is still some guns left i can borrow, if not ill wait till next game :)

Being a "minor" (Under 16) I've convinced my Father to give it a go so I can as well. However, later this year I'll be able to get my Firearms license and I fully intend to do so so I can become fully involved in the sport of Airsoft.

Another factor in my interest of the sport of Airsoft is my enjoyment out of games like Arma and nerf, and airsoft seems like the perfect blend of both (And it would get me out of the house lol)

I'm excited in participating in the Open event on April 2nd.
I hope this is the beginning of years of enjoyment and probably a new addiction.

I'm on my working holiday year and started working in Hastings a couple of weeks ago.
In Germany I just played some paintball with my friends and don't have any real experience with
airsoft..
I hope that's not an issue ;)

My name is Dean my callsign/nickname for almost every game platform I've been involved with for fun and competitively is "Spartan" which I took from Rome:Total War and then went on to use for BF2 through to BF3 :) , I'm 39 and work in the security industry, have had private military training back in the day and try to keep up to date with new evolved tactics and strategies of the present warfare, I'm also a solo dad of a kick ass 9yo son which presently I train him in weapon handling combat/movement tactics etc etc and have him fully geared out, I wanted to kit my son out 1st to get him familiar with the weapon system, weight etc etc, I am also fully geared head to toe except for the weapon, so just waiting on the fund topup to buy my AEG, I'm very keen to come see you guys in action and see how you guys operate together as a team and a community and would also like to talk with you guys face to face when ever you guys have future meetings, I'm also based in Napier, if you guys are keen to know more don't be afraid to hit me up :) .

I'm Darryl, otherwise known as Krieg. I've just moved up to Hawkes Bay from Wellington, but I was originally from Gisborne. I'm an electrical engineer, married and have two mongrels named Jezza and May-Z for kids (labrador cross breeds).

I've been doing airsoft for a little over 3 years now and was formerly a senior member of WMA and regular at 232 Crew games. I am an airsoft sniper and run a Mancraft powered L96. Looking forward to getting on board with the AHB team and seeing what HB has to offer.

I enjoy games like Counter Strike, Rust, DayZ and Battlefield 1 which I think is half the reason I'd like to get into airsoft. The other half is a combination of the cool gear airsoft has and my need for a more active hoddy.

I'm Alex (29), and am looking forward to coming along to my first open day tomorrow. I've always been interested in airsoft, and have owned a couple of gas BB pistols in the past but have never taken the step to check out a club - this changes now!

I work for a Napier Software company, and also spend a lot of my time volunteering with the Hawkes Bay Coastguard. If I'm not doing either of those things I'm spending time with the family or am PC gaming.

I am 14 years old and I'm turning 15 in May so I can join you on the field soon.
I am interested in Cars, Airsoft and Gaming.
I play games like Rainbow Six Siege and Player Unknown's Battlegrounds. I play on PC.
Airsoft has interested me since early last year. I have only had a basic Co2 airsoft pistol, and I have wanted to get into the sport ever since. Recently I found out about Airsoft Hawke's Bay so I decided to sign up and give it a try.
I will order a proper gun soon and join you in a few months.
I have lived in Havelock North since I was young and I live on an orchard, so I am used to the outdoors.
I don't have any gear right now, but when I turn up in a few months, expect to see me with some basic gear.

My name is Daryl, Esquire is my usual internet handle but I'm not sure if I'll hang on to it for Airsoft. I live in Clive with my partner Floss, two kids and a mad dog. I collect military helmets of no particular vintage, and other kit that takes my fancy at the time. I played at the Puketap field at the open day on 28th April and had a great time getting used for target practice by the snipers and defenders. Was more than seized up on Sunday, barely able to walk, due to running around for the previous afternoon. I didn't realise I was that unfit, but there you go. I'll be back for more on the 9th June open day as I can't make this weekend's event. See you then.

Have started Airsoft late last year with AWI and have a played a few gamedays, but only know enough to know how much I don't know.

I travel to the bay every few weeks and was hoping to jump into any games that are on while I am there. I'll keep an eye on the public game forums, and drop a note in if I think I can get there.

My currently preferred load out is G&G; G&P with an upgraded gearbox, or ARP556 with a drum mag depending on the mission, secondary the Beretta M9.

I am 58 years old have 3 sprogs and 1 cat. I am all sorts of business involvement, I speak write books own some business etc etc. Never a dull moment. Air soft is a beast , I like running around trying to slaughter others with plastic pellets and have the bug really bad . Am pulling guns to pieces and putting them back together to try and learn. Just finished my wolverine HPA sniper so you wont even hear me . Good luck
